Campaigns

A campaign is a one-time or scheduled outbound message you send to a list of contacts, with real-time stats on opens, clicks, and conversions.

A campaign is how you reach a group of contacts on purpose — a product update, an onboarding sequence kickoff, a win-back offer. Each campaign has a template, a recipient list, a schedule, and a stats dashboard that updates as deliveries happen.

The list lives at Campaigns in the sidebar. Filter by status to focus on what needs your attention right now.

The campaigns list

Each row shows the campaign name, status, recipient count, and headline stats:

ColumnWhat it means
Statusdraft, scheduled, active, paused, or completed.
RecipientsHow many contacts are on the list.
Open / click rateUpdated in near real-time as customers engage.

Use the status filter at the top of the page to narrow the view — for example, "show me everything paused so I can finish or cancel them."

Creating a campaign

Start a new campaign

Go to Campaigns → New campaign. Give it an internal name that makes sense in the list ("Q3 feature launch") — customers never see this.

Pick a template

Choose from the templates your org has saved, or start from a blank one. Templates control the layout, header, and footer; you'll write the body next.

Write the content

Fill in the subject line and body. You can use merge tags like {{name}} to personalize per contact. The right-hand preview updates as you type so you can sanity-check the layout.

Attach recipients

Pick a saved contact list, or build the audience on the fly with a filter (e.g. "everyone tagged beta who hasn't been in a campaign in 30 days"). The recipient count updates immediately so you know how many people will receive it.

Choose a schedule

Send now, schedule for a specific time, or save as a draft to come back to. Scheduled campaigns appear in the list with their scheduled time so you can change or cancel them before they go out.

Send a test

Before launching, click Test send and enter your own email address. Informly delivers the exact message a real recipient would get — merge tags resolved, layout finalized — so you can preview the end result.

Launch

Click Launch campaign. The status flips to scheduled if it has a future time, or active if it's sending now.

Always send a test to yourself before launching. A merge tag with the wrong key, or a broken link in the template, is hard to walk back once 5,000 emails are on their way.

Monitoring an active campaign

Click any active or completed campaign to open its detail page. You'll see live stats:

  • Delivered — successfully sent
  • Opened — opened at least once
  • Clicked — clicked any link in the body
  • Converted — completed the goal you defined (if any)
  • Unsubscribed — opted out from this campaign

Each metric has a sparkline showing how it's tracking over time. The recipient table below lets you filter individual contacts by their engagement state — for example, "show me everyone who opened but didn't click."

Pause and resume

If something looks wrong — a wrong link, a misnamed offer — pause an active campaign immediately.

Pause

Click Pause on the campaign detail page. Any deliveries already in flight finish, but no new ones are queued.

Fix and review

Edit the content or recipient list. Pausing does not reset stats — everything sent so far is preserved.

Resume

Click Resume. Informly picks up where it left off, sending only to the recipients who hadn't received the message yet.

Recipient lists

You can use the same contact list across multiple campaigns. Save a filter on the Contacts page as a list, then attach the list to campaign after campaign. Lists are dynamic by default — if a new contact matches the filter, they're picked up the next time a campaign uses that list.
