Switching organizations
Your Informly account can belong to multiple organizations, and you can move between them at any time from the organization switcher.
A single Informly account can be a member of more than one organization — your personal trial, your day-job company's org, a side project's org, all on the same login. The organization switcher lets you move between them without signing out, and Informly remembers which one was active so you land back in the right place next time.
Where the switcher lives
You have two ways to open the switcher:
- Click your avatar in the top-right of the admin UI and pick Switch organization from the menu
- Go directly to
/organization-switcherin your browser
Both open the same screen. You'll see every org your account belongs to, with your role in each and the org's logo for easy recognition.
Switching
Open the switcher
From the avatar menu or by navigating to /organization-switcher.
Pick an org
Click the org you want to switch to. Informly reloads the admin UI with that org as the active context — every page you visit from now on shows data scoped to it.
Confirm you're in the right place
The org name appears in the sidebar header. If you're ever unsure which org you're working in, that's the place to look.
Your active org is remembered per browser. Sign in from a different browser or an incognito window and Informly will ask which org to start in.
What "active org" actually changes
Every page in the admin UI — projects, widgets, conversations, contacts, billing, team — scopes its data to the active org. Switching orgs is functionally the same as signing out of one and into the other, except faster and without losing your session. There's no shared data across orgs: a contact in Org A is not the same record as a contact in Org B, even if both have the same email.
The only things tied to your account rather than the active org are under Your Account — your name, email, password, 2FA, and theme preference are the same across every org you're in.
Joining another org
You join an org one of two ways:
Someone on the org's team sends you an invite from Team → Invite member. You get an email; clicking the link adds the org to your account. See Team invites.
From the org switcher, click Create organization. You become the owner of the new org and can invite teammates from there.
Leaving an org
You can't leave an org on your own — an owner has to remove you from Team. Ask the owner of the org you want to leave; they'll find you on the team page and click Remove. Your other orgs are unaffected.
If the org you want to leave is a personal one that only contains you, delete the org from Organization settings instead. That removes the org entirely and takes you out of it as a side effect.
