Privacy

Handle GDPR and data privacy requests from your contacts by exporting or anonymizing their data directly from the Informly CRM.

When a contact asks for a copy of their data or asks you to delete it, you need a quick, reliable way to act on the request and prove that you did. The Privacy page gives you both — one click to export everything tied to a contact, one click to anonymize them.

Go to CRM → Privacy to handle these requests.

The two actions

For each privacy request you receive, there are two actions you can take.

You can use them independently. A contact who asks for a copy of their data only needs the export. A contact who asks to be forgotten gets the anonymization.

Export contact data

Open the Privacy page

Go to CRM → Privacy.

Find the contact

Search by name or email.

Click Export contact data

Informly bundles the contact's profile, related deals, tasks, notes, and conversation history into a CSV bundle and starts the download.

Deliver the export

Send the bundle to the contact through whichever channel they requested.

Anonymize a contact

Anonymization replaces the contact's name, email, phone, and other identifying fields with anonymous values. The records the contact appeared on stay in your CRM — so your historical reports and activity stay intact — but the person is no longer identifiable.

Anonymization is permanent and cannot be undone. If the contact has asked for both an export and deletion, run the export first, deliver it to them, and only then run the anonymization. Once it's run there's no way to recover the original values.

What's recorded

Every privacy action is recorded in the audit log with the operator's name and a timestamp. You can use that record as your proof of compliance if a regulator or the contact asks for evidence.

Org-level deletion

The Privacy page handles requests about individual contacts. If your organization needs a full data-deletion request — for example, you're winding down the account and want every CRM record wiped — contact Informly support. We'll walk you through the process and handle it on the back end.

Tips

  • Acknowledge the request to the contact before you act on it. Anonymization is fast, but the conversation around it shouldn't be.
  • For exports, keep the delivery channel secure. The export contains personal data.
  • When in doubt, export first. You can always anonymize later, but you can't un-anonymize.
